3D Photographic Simulation Allows Patients to See Results BEFORE the Procedure

New technology allows patients to preview how they will look with a variety of aesthetic procedures, particularly breast augmentation.

If you are one of the tens of thousands of people each year considering an aesthetic procedure, our Gastonia office has some good news for you. Recent advances in three dimensional (3D) photography, combined with revolutionary new software, now allow prospective patients to preview what they will look like after undergoing procedures such as breast augmentation, skin rejuvenation, body contouring and more.

“My patients will absolutely love this,” said Dr. Daniel Ness, a board certified plastic surgeon with Piedmont Plastic Surgery and Dermatology. “This new technology is a particular advance in planning breast augmentations. It really enables a patient to have a realistic idea of what they will look like with breast implants. For the first time, patients can view a 3D image of themselves at all angles with different size implants, an extremely powerful and helpful tool for anyone considering that procedure.”

Both the VECTRA® 3D camera and Sculptor software were developed by Canfield Imaging Systems of Fairfield, NJ, the world’s leading provider of medical photography systems. The process starts with a VECTRA 3D session, which produces a three-dimensional photograph of the patient. Then, using Sculptor software, the physician is able to simulate the expected results of a variety of aesthetic procedures.
